Abstract
When 'translating between cultures', there is substantial overlap between ethnography and translation. Ethnography is being thought of as a part of cultural anthropology, and therein primarily as an act of representation or rather textualization of something that is being observed. This paper aims to locate these overlaps and – concentrating on the issue of power – raise questions pertaining to both these disciplines. Finally, propositions are made that may serve to stimulate a prolific collaboration of both disciplines.
