This article deals with simultaneous interpreting for the media. It first presents a description of some of the special features of media interpreting. This is followed by an overview of the author’s experience and a discussion of the TV interpretation ‘scene’ in Austria. It concludes with a concise look-into of a survey comparing the expectations of TV professionals and conference participants concerning high-quality simultaneous interpretation.
