Abstract
This paper sets out to present a pilot programme developed by the translation and interpreting institute at the Washington academy of languages, aiming to teach the basic process of translation. Low-literacy health education documents primarily constituted the classroom materials. This article embarks upon, among other issues, the student population, entry evaluation and some challenges encountered.
