This volume contains 11 articles focusing on different aspects of literary and cultural transfer. Three papers discuss the pragmatic aspects of the transatlantic import of literature; they are written by publishers and lectors in publishing houses. Three papers treat the reception of translated American literature in Germanspeaking regions. The remaining five articles are devoted to problems of cultural transfer and general aspects of identity construction. Their topics reach from Canadian and Jamaican drama to a more detailed comparison of the art concepts of John Dewey and Martin Heidegger.
