Abstract
In this paper the results are presented of a research project dealing with the presence of exchange students in translation classes. The same situation is analyzed from three different points of view: that of the exchange students, that of the permanent students, as well as that of the teachers. It is also suggested that the traditional concept of directionality is no longer valid for a large number of students in class. This fact leads to question the concept of directionality and calls for a reconsideration of the present situation.
