An interpreter studying the principles of the general theory of terminology feels a sense of affinity for this subject. The present paper proposes a reasoned explanation for this feeling and raises the question as to whether there is actually any common ground between the general theory of terminology and interpretation. Detailed attention is paid to certain facets of consecutive interpretation.
