Abstract
The authors describe the state of the art of easy-to-read translation in Spain as a new field inside Translation Studies. They point to three key publications regulating easy-to-read texts in Spain, which are quite varied regarding syntactic and lexical simplification, as well as the use of images. Several research proposals are put forward to set the basis for analyzing the original text and apply intralingual and intersemiotic translation strategies to achieve a better quality in easy-to-read texts.
