Abstract
What do ministers of finance talk about when they get together? Based on a Spanish-language source text on Latin America, this lecture will explore some basic economic terminology, with emphasis on meaning and proper usage in English and Spanish. The main topics covered will be GDP growth, unemployment, inflation, the balance of trade, fiscal deficit, macro-economic equilibrium, exchange rate regimes, international reserves, and foreign debt.
