This paper examines the validity and applicability of a concept-based approach to terminology extraction and to the documentation of definition data. The first findings address issues such as text corpus quality and evaluation and provide a sound approach to the utilization of field expertise in the documentation of terminological resources. Further elaboration and specification of the evaluation criteria implemented can achieve a significant degree of integration with respect to the approach of terminology as an applied discipline
