Abstract
This dissertation describes the Italian and Spanish contributions to Translation Studies, as well as general issues applied to Italian and Spanish (such as proper nouns, dialects, interference or neologisms). It also analyses the translation process. The practical part focuses on an analysis of La cognizione del dolore by Carlo Emilio Gadda, with a view to its translation.
