Lin Wusun was a famous Chinese and foreign translator and organizer of translation activities after the founding of New China. This article systematically reviews his translation sponsorship behavior during his tenure as the Director of the China Foreign Languages Bureau and the Executive Vice President of the China Translators Association, and based on this, explores and organizes his "five step approach" to translation, focusing on dissemination, differentiation from foreign languages, and cultural consciousness in foreign translation communication. These insights represent the new understanding and exploration of the older generation of foreign translation and communication workers in the new era context regarding the Chinese foreign translation activities with a new historical mission.
