Abstract
This volume of Cadernos de Tradução is part of a joint publication, carried out in partnership with the magazine Diacrítica, from the Center for Humanistic Studies of the University of Minho (CEHUM), Portugal, which aims to publicize the articles prepared from contributions presented during the 10th International Congress of the Iberian Association of Translation and Interpreting Studies (AIETI). Under the title “Transtextual and cultural circumnavigations”, partially inspired by The Poetics of Translation by Barnston (1993), this conference took place at the University of Minho. Under the sign of travel, crossing and itinerancy, the event intended to promote reflection and discussion around the multiple dynamics associated with the transmission and dissemination of languages, cultures and sciences in the context of globalization through circulation of texts and ideas in translation. This special issue is addressed to those who chose to participate in this other journey through texts and languages, and who have also had the enriching and stimulating experience of sharing and retracing routes “across seas that have already been sailed”, mapping new cartographies of a “large illuminated world”.
