Abstract

This book attempts to offer an integrated approach to the most relevant theoretical aspects of contemporary Translation Studies. Drawing on translation from English into Spanish, the author embarks upon the evolution of Translation Studies and the translation process. The first part looks into an introduction of Translation Studies. The second part focuses on translation and culture, stating that Translation Studies is an interdisciplinary issue. In this second part, topics such as translation and linguistics (communicative aspects of translation), translation and culture, translation as manipulation and the deconstruction of translation are discussed.
