The pulp and paper industry is recognized as a global industry. The professional English used in the pulp and paper industry shows obvious characteristics at the word and phrase levels: strong cross-disciplinary nature of professional terms, more semi-professional terms, and more word formation methods at the lexical level; there are more noun positive phrases describing quality at the sentence level, and more passive sentences indicating the pulp and paper process. This article combines a large number of examples to explore in depth the language characteristics and translation strategies of the professional English used in the pulp and paper industry from the perspectives of vocabulary and sentences in order to provide reference for the translation of similar themed texts.
