Journalistic translation is a tool that serves as a channel for accessing information. In addition, access to information is a fundamental right for all citizens. From the translation sector, the implementation of Easy Reading as a global strategy to facilitate cognitive accessibility guarantees universal accessibility by ensuring that the text offers the necessary information in an understandable way for those who need this support. The objectives of this paper are: (1) to give an overview of the existing opportunity for the translator to specialize in the new profile of journalistic Easy Reading translator and (2) to describe the challenges of Easy Reading translation of journalistic texts.
