Abstract
The author talks about his initial interest in translation, linked with the beginnings of his work as a translator, and how strange that was in a time when translators did not want to go into theoretical issues. He argues that this is changing and finally talks about the importance for his own translational reflections of his translation of Roa Bastos' Yo el supremo.
