Abstract

The article offers a theoretical framework for dealing with the translation of texts whose meaning depends on their relations with other texts or textual models. These relations may take the shape of quotation, allusion, parody and the like. Their rendering in translation is extremely difficult and depends on various factors such as personal capacities, the distance between the languages and literatures involved, and translation norms. Within the proposed framework and on the basis of several case-studies, the article describes a process of change in literary translation into Hebrew.
