Abstract
Translation is more than converting words from one language into another. It is a complex process of cultural transfer, and the translator bears the responsibility for the accuracy of this transfer. The theoretical and critical concepts from auxiliary disciplines such as literary theory and comparative literature may significantly contribute to the translator's training in the classroom. Therefore, translation students and practitioners must be aware of the importance of this theoretical training and view it as a useful tool for understanding the profession. This paper provides a brief overview of the "Manipulation school's" contributions to the advancement of Translation Studies.
