Abstract

This paper aims to highlight effective teaching and learning strategies to foster specialist knowledge acquisition in the context of teaching translation. It then challenges the notion that there is an increasing need for the 'specialized communicator'. In conclusion, it is the role of the universities to generate 'specialist communicators'.
