Abstract
The authors of this article read the English translation of Hölderlin's poem Andenken not as a translation, but as an original. They compare the English interpretation to the interpretation of the German poem and aim to make visible that the English version has its own literary, historical and cultural context which can't be integrated into the interpretation horizon of the original German poem.
