Thomson, Gaby. 2005. Eastside story - Westside story: what is happening in the market of translated children's books? In Aijmer, Karin and Cecilia Alvstad, eds. New tendencies in Translation Studies (Acta Universitatis Gothoburgensis 90). Göteborg: Göteborg University. pp. 83–92.

The focus of this article is the comparison of contemporary Western society and a former Eastern Bloc country, the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Political/ideological, cultural and economic issues are explored in order to establish where the translations of children's texts can be located within the social context of each of these systems.
