The author would like to introduce an Organization structure for a retraining course in consecutive and simultaneous techniques or for courses to improve active or passive interpretation. After a short discussion on the work and working conditions of professional interpreters, she introduces the method in terms of its organization and didactic content, followed by an intensive course of 48 hours. She examines the different phases of testing, control and evaluation employed as the course develops, and then explains how these courses have been modified in the light of the results obtained. Finally, she underlines the usefulness of retraining courses which offer working interpreters the opportunity of improving their existing qualities.
