Abstract
In this essay on the tower of Babel, Derrida wonders in which tongue the tower of Babel was constructed and deconstructed. He also deals with Babel as a proper name, but asks of what and whom it is the proper name. Moreover, he embarks upon the three forms of translation. These are among the issues discussed.
