Abstract

Wotjak pleads for the integration of a communicative approach into translation studies, especially since it allows to take into acount the cognitive aspects of language, communication and translation. He aims to show why cognitive linguistics, cognitive psychology, communication and social sciences and the different subdisciplines of linguistics can offer new insights into translation theory.
