In the first part of this chapter, the authors briefly indicate some of Nida's insights concerning translation and problematic aspects of his presentation in one work of great influence on Bible translators. They then indicate the broad scope of contemporary studies in translation, and look at some of the discussions concerning the translation of literary texts, an area receiving relatively little attention in the era of dynamic equivalence, but of increasing interest for Bible translators.
