Abstract

Starting with the obvious need in translation teaching for a clear picture of translation procedures, this article discusses the concepts of strategy, method, and technique and proposes the use of mode as a procedural device for dealing with content, intention, and cultural requirements. Specifically, the article defines the concepts and correlates their occurrence with the phases and stages of translation, thus offering suggestions for the accommodation of procedures in training syllabuses.
