After a brief introduction on non-verbal communication, in which the author discusses, among other items, the complementary aspects of non-verbal communication and verbal communication, the paper discusses the daily working reality of the interpreter. The main body of the paper is devoted to experimental work on non-verbal communication and simultaneous interpreting.
