Abstract
This paper aims to be a general introduction to the development of cognitive and linguistic strategies during the acquisition of translation/interpretation skills. It also discusses to what extent – and in what parts of his task – the translator/interpreter is creative in his rendering of the source text and how a creative attitude can be fostered and developed in the training process.
