Abstract

This article concentrates on the translation of a Dutch short story into Spanish. The main characteristic of the short story is its alternative orthography which introduces numbers in words according to their orthographic rules. The purpose of this translation and subsequent analysis is to find out if it is possible to produce similar games with words and numbers in Spanish. At the end, the author offers a list of Spanish expressions that include numbers, being its only purpose that of providing some ideas for the translation of possible future Dutch stories that may include similar games of words and numbers.
