Abstract
Pickwick Papers is Dickens' most popular book and the most representative of the first period of Victorian period in the United Kingdom. It is also the first book to open up what we now call literature to everyone, and it is systematically included in 20th-century Spanish series of World Classics. Taking a letter written by Sam Weller as an example, the author analyses the good and bad decisions taken by the many Spanish translations there are now.
