The focus in this paper is on special language translation, or technical translation in the sense that all these translations concern languages for specific purposes, which require technical terminology of some kind. More specifically, the necessity of a concept ‘equivalence’, and the relationship between the cognitive processing of meaning and improving equivalence is investigated.
