Translations must keep not only the meaning, but also the ‘rhythm’ of the original. Therefore the dilemma for the translator would be between a “beautiful and faithful” version or a “tedious and faithful” one. The danger of the first is to “lose the memory” in the way between one language to another, the second instead obliterates the literary value of the text. The translator should not try to “master” the text but to “feel” it with her body and senses, and then create a “new literary text” close to the original one.
