Abstract

The author analyses Mara Negrón’s Spanish translation of Savoir (in Cixous and Derrida’s Veils), specifying some linguistic procedures, such as ‘neologisms’, ‘phonetic losses’, ‘translation of metaphors’, and ‘plays on words’. She also applies some of the most important images of Veils to the activity of translating. Peñalver Vicea argues that translating is the only way to ‘unveil’ some linguistic procedures of Cixous’s writing, but it conveys also the risk of ‘veiling’ the ambiguity and so the richness of the original text.
