Abstract

Rhythm as an aesthetic element forming the meaning of an artistic text has often attracted the attention of scholars. Being one of the most general and essential of text properties, it is relevant not only for the interpretation of genre peculiarities of fiction, but can also be regarded as a specific code for understanding the text. This paper attempts to catalogue the meaningful structural rhythm-forming units in different types of narration in fiction and the ways of their reproduction in the process of translation from English into Russian.
