Abstract
In this paper, the author discusses some problems in connection with translating dialect as part of a work of fiction. The discussion is based mainly on the analysis of one chapter from the novel Din stund på jorden by the Swedish author Vilhelm Moberg, and its translations into English by Naomi Walford and into Russian by Juliana Jachnina.
