Abstract

There used to be not much talk about advertising in Latvia. The bits and pieces of advertisements penetrating through the iron curtain could not demonstrate much influence on lifestyle and even less could they influence the Latvian language. With the development of market economy, not only can one start talking about new products and state-of-the-art technologies, there is also a rapid development of the Latvian advertising language. The attempt of this article is to show the trends of Latvian advertising language so as to foster the filling of the convention vacuum.
