Dictionaries of false friends is a sphere of bilingual lexicography mainly addressing the needs of translators (or interpreters) and language learners. In this article, the author focuses on several aspects of false friends in false friends dictionaries and especially on the considerable variety of false friends which in turn determines the necessity to consider specific groups of language users. This is necessary if dictionaries are to be user-friendly as the target groups need specific form of presentation. Learners' and translators' expectations of the dictionaries are also considered.
