Abstract

The author analyses the elliptic verses of the Qu’ran and their translation into English. The author demonstrates that etymological, lexicographical and semantic knowledge and idiomatic and grammatical competences of the Arabic language are essential to deliver a translation which is faithful to the sacred book.
