Abstract

Given the multicultural character of society, Canada needs to use systems for the formation, the accreditation and the recognition of court interpreters. In the past, several efforts have been made in that sense, particularly in British Columbia, where the training programmes are diversified. This has influenced Ontario to set up a training programme and to identify the steps in the improvement of interpretation services in court. Huge efforts have been made to recognise the profession.
