Abstract
The main focus of this study is to examine how journalistic performance implicitly facilitates or impedes integration process during a longer time by offering or concealing different narratives, symbols and stereotypes. The authors analyse a select number of newspapers and magazines to find out what ethnic and political stereotypes on Latvians, Russians and other nationalities are found in Latvian and Russian language press, thus attempting to determine to what extent representation of the other party facilitates willingness of ethnic communities to engage in dialogue and cooperation.
