Abstract
All media attempting to safeguard standardization need linguistic assessors and revisers, particularly when contributing or promoting standardization, as is the case of broadcasting companies in autonomous regions in Spain such as Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia. The author of this article discusses a number of problems in audio-visual translation (e.g. style, form and lexicial content), elaborates on the role of linguistic assessors in the case of TV Catalunya and provides a number of procedures and norms in subtitling and dubbing.
