In this short article the author focuses on three issues related to general translation and the translation of films in Spain. First he examines the effect of language policies on audiovisual translation in non-standard Spanish speaking communities such as Galicia, Catalonia and Valencia. Secondly he looks at the use of new technologies in this field of translation, such as the internet for example. Finally he discusses the perception of bad audio-visual translations and the unwillingness to correct mistakes.
