Abstract

The object of this analysis is the first edition of Arte de olvidar o remedio de amor, a translation of Ovidio's Remedia amoris. In this poetical Latin work the mythology has an extensive allusive character, which requires the translator not only to have a thorough knowledge of Latin but also to be familiar with the style and oeuvre of the author.
