Abstract

As an important bridge to “tell a good story of China”, the cultural vitality of international publicity translation stems from the exchange and collision between different symbols and codes, but the lack of cultural interpretations and meaning expressions makes it difficult for international publicity translation to go from “going out” to “going in.” From the perspective of Lotman’s Cultural Semiotics, this paper reconsiders the significance of international publicity translation within the framework of semiotics, points out the impacts of the functions of textual transmission, memory, and creation on the variation and regeneration of the internal meaning of international publicity translation, which can avoid the academic blind spots and interpretation bias existing in the single disciplinary perspective of publicity translation, so as to further expand the interdisciplinary research of international publicity translation.
