Abstract
The incredible development of the Internet presents today’s companies with the opportunity to reach around the world to find new markets for their products. Thus many companies develop websites to make access for their customers easier. Since the development of the web industry has been so rapid, the number of new words for new concepts in technical computing and acronyms have been increasing immensely. This poses problems for Internet language professors, in particular translators, web editors and technical writers who do not have much knowledge of technical terminology. This paper collects and reports on Internet language professionals first hand experiences with terms in an Internet business in Hong Kong.
