Зміст

Підгалузь перекладознавства «цензура і переклад» вивчає крайні вияви впливу ідеології на переклади. Таким чином, її дослідження «приводить нас до деяких найважливіших ідеологічних аспектів перекладознавства» (Tymoczko, в NíChuilleanáin et al. 2009: 45). Цензуру виправдовували і виправдовують естетичними, моральними, політичними, військовими та релігійними причинами, і розглядають, серед іншого, з точок зору мережі акторів, залучених до процесупередачі даних (Transfer and transfer studies), діяльності перекладача, етики перекладу (Ethics and translation), відносин між переписуванням (творчістю) і перекладом. Вона не завжди є продуктом полярних бінарних ситуацій, у яких невинні перекладачі протистоять у процесі перекладу репресивним режимам. Хоча цензуру традиційно вважають примусовою і репресивною, із пригноблювачами і жертвами, вивчення цензури і перекладу у ХХІ ст. розширює наше розуміння цього складного явища.
