Устный перевод в сфере здравоохранения, который также называют устным медицинским переводом, представляет собой особый вид перевода в социальной сфере, при котором пациентам и медицинским работникам необходимо осуществлять коммуникацию, но они не говорят на одном языке. Такие ситуации часто возникают в « супермногонациональном » обществе, где стабильно развивается медицинский туризм, увеличивается мобильность врачей и пациентов, а также возрастает уровень миграции населения (Angelelli 2019).
