Переклад дитячої літератури – найвідоміша назва тієї дослідницької ділянки, яку деякі вчені воліють називати «Перекладом для дітей», оскільки в цьому варіанті робиться більший наголос не на властивостях текстів, що перекладаються, а на дітях, які є їхніми потенційними адресатами. Переклад дитячої літератури характеризується низкою особливостей, серед яких дослідники найчастіше звертають увагу на: (1) адаптацію культурного контексту; (2) ідеологічну маніпуляцію; (3) подвійну аудиторію, яка включає як дітей, так і дорослих; (4) сприйняття на слух; (5) зв’язок між текстом та образом.
