Міжкультурне посередництво [Intercultural mediation]

Міжкультурне посередництво (МKП) визначається як тип взаємодії через перекладача, що враховує відмінності між культурами, які взаємодіють при перекладі. Мета МKП полягає у тому, щоб забезпечити простоту розуміння тексту, що передбачає «переписування» (‘re-writing’) (див. також Культуроорієнтовані підходи (Cultural approaches)), «відтворення» (‘recreating’), «перестворення» чи «творчу адаптацію» (‘transcreating’). Існує два найбільш розповсюджені погляди на МKП. Перша з концепцій спирається на розуміння МKП як діяльності, спрямованої на успішне здійснення комунікації між різними культурами, при цьому письмовий або усний перекладач збалансовує потенційні зони непорозуміння (втрату чи викривлення змісту). Відповідно до другої концепції МKП розглядається як підтримка вразливих культурних спільнот, щоб їхній голос було почуто, щоб їхні права та відмінності поважали.
