Міжнародний бізнес (МБ) – це міждисциплінарна сфера, яка ґрунтується на економіці, стратегічному плануванні, соціології, психології, економічній географії та крос-культурних дослідженнях. Науковці у сфері МБ зазвичай досліджують такі питання, як види діяльності, стратегії й структури транснаціональних корпорацій, взаємодія між транснаціональними корпораціями та іншими суб’єктами, інституціями й ринками, транскордонна діяльність компаній, вплив міжнародного середовища на діяльність компаній, а також те, як компанії зростають і розширюються на міжнародному рівні через різні організаційні і структурні рішення (наприклад, стратегічні альянси, злиття та поглинання, прямі іноземні інвестиції). Об’єднує всі ці сфери дослідження інтерес до міжнародних явищ, які перетинають кордони, часто також культурні й мовні кордони.
